Jaguar Plano Named #1 Jaguar Dealer in the Nation

Park Place Jaguar Plano is honored to be recognized once again as the #1 Jaguar dealer in the nation. The Marque of Distinction title is the highest honor a Jaguar dealer can receive. Jaguar Plano was also the recipient of Pride of Jaguar Retailer Excellence Award. Only 16 of the 164 Jaguar Retailers are awarded Pride of Jaguar status each year. The winners are chosen based on performance in three overall categories: customer advocacy, sales and business excellence.

Jason Feuerberg, Sales Manager at Jaguar Plano was also recognized as the 2014/15 Journey to Excellence Marque of Distinction winner.

Idris Elba Takes Bentley On A Record-Breaking “Flying Mile”

Actor Idris Elba chased and surpassed a historic record, set nearly 90 years ago. Behind the wheel of a new Bentley Continental GT Speed, the award-winning actor hit a top speed of 180.361 mph , breaking the previous “Flying Mile” record of 174.8 mph set by Sir Malcolm Campbell in his legendary Napier-Campbell Blue Bird. Elba took to the Pendine Sands in Whales to make a run for the record books.

Elba, who famously played Nelson Mandela in the multi-award winning Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, said: “I’m absolutely elated to have broken the ‘Flying Mile’ at Pendine Sands. It’s an honor to have taken on the challenge, and to successfully follow in the footsteps of the illustrious Sir Malcolm Campbell.”

Despite some challenging tidal conditions on the beach in south Wales, the record was broken in the Crewe-built Continental during filming for an upcoming four-part Discovery Channel series, Idris Elba: No Limits, which will air in July.

Elba’s record was independently verified by the UK Timing Association.

Powered by Bentley’s iconic 6-litre twin-turbo W12 engine, the GT Speed dispatches the zero-to-sixty sprint in 4.0 seconds on its way to a top speed of 206 mph.

A Bugatti Wish Fulfilled and Memories Made

Park Place teamed up with the Make-A-Wish foundation to make 7-year-old Michael Hollis’ dream come true.

The young boy, battling leukemia, is a fan of fast cars and auto-racing video games.

Naturally, he wanted to experience a Bugatti Veyron for himself.

Michael, along with his mom and dad flew in from San Antonio for the big surprise, arranged by Park Place Premier Collection, Make-A-Wish and Bugatti.

They pulled up for Michael’s big surprise in a white stretch-limo.

Michael had no idea what was in store for him till he saw his dream car…a black and blue Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse…with a Bugatti factory driver.

The driver wasn’t just any driver, it was Butch Leitzinger- a race car driver who won the famed Rolex 24 at Daytona three times.

Michael- stunned and excited, climbed into the Bugatti, taking it all in while Butch explained what each button does and how the super car, packing 1200 horsepower- taking it from 0-60 in under 3 seconds, works.

After a thorough overview and Michael’s Bugatti hat on, the duo was off for the ride of a lifetime.

Although the car tops out at 255 mph, Leitzinger didn’t go quite that fast.

Michael, taking it all in during the ride was all smiles, waved to cars as they passed.

After the ride, Michael and his family got a personal tour of the Park Place Premier Collection- checking out Rolls Royces, Bentleys and other awe-inspiring luxury vehicles.
