100 years ago in the heart of Bologna, Italy, Maserati was born. A century of unparalleled success, innovation, and prestige has made cause for celebration. To commemorate this historic time, Maserati has created unique designs of the GranTurismo MC with the esteemed title of “Centennial Edition.” Featuring three new and unique three-layer paints, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition captured the hearts of spectators at the Beijing and New York Auto Shows in April of 2014. This gorgeous vehicle has now made its way into the halls of Park Place Maserati.
Park Place Maserati is holding the new “Blu Inchiostro” color GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition in our spotlight. The paint color, with deep dark glints, has been specifically developed to combine with the lighter shades of the interior, creating an aesthetically beautiful transition between the cabin and the exterior. The color is sporty, yet retains an air of elegance with its intensity and reddish undertones. Furthermore, a unique centennial logo has been placed in the door sill and the center wheel caps so as to emphasize the exclusivity of this vehicle.
Taking a look under the hood of the Centennial leaves little else to be desired. Featuring a powerful 454 horsepower 4.7L V-8 naturally-aspirated engine with MC Trofeo-developed high-performance and specifically-tuned exhaust, the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition lacks in neither bark nor bite. The suspension and chassis are designed specifically to enhance track performance without sacrificing any of its abilities as a day-to-day driver because of its single rate sports suspension and a lower, stiffer setup. The hood, made entirely of carbon fiber, provides additional downforce at the front to improve steering sensation and control at high speeds.
Once you take a seat in the cabin, you immediately realize that the emphasis placed on performance in no way detracts from the luxury experienced within. The Poltrona Frau leather interior with the contrast stripe design with specifically matched contrast stitching truly highlights this interior as the pinnacle of indulgence. This, coupled with the carbon fiber trim on both the interior and exterior accent regions, indicates that Maserati held nothing back in either its design or implementation. With the realization of the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition, Maserati has undoubtedly primed itself for its next century of unbridled achievement.
Park Place Premier Collection recently held its 2014 Holiday Soiree with a progressive dinner spanning four luxury showrooms. The event was co-sponsored by NorthPark Center and Merrill Lynch Wealth management. The progressive dinner menu was inspired by the four brands that comprise the Park Place Premier Collection: McLaren, Maserati, Rolls-Royce, and Bentley.
Guests began the night with California rolls, ahi wonton crisps and Oriental salad from Kona Grill and sipped on G.H. Mumm Champagne as they admired the legendary McLaren 650S and dazzling Hublot timepieces.
Next, guests enjoyed the glamour of the Maserati Quattroporte as they enjoyed Italian-inspired bites by Bread Winners Café and crafted cocktails by Absolut Mistletoe. Men and women’s fashions from Versace were there to complement the bold look of the vehicle.
Guests then surrounded themselves with the opulence of the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II, as well as the latest in kitchen, bath, and outdoor appliances from Pirch. They enjoyed Avion tequila, The Glenlivet whisky, and Newcastle ales as well as assorted Bistro entrée plates.
The night was finished off amongst the hand-sewn beauty of the Bentley GTC V8, the elegance of the Eiseman Jewels’ collection of diamond jewelry, and the impressive collection of jewels from Roberto Coin and Gucci. Guests enjoyed pecan pie, rocky road and carrot cake indulgences from Seasons 52, as well as a complimentary Kahlúa tasting.
Guests were asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to benefit Community Partners of Dallas, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring safety and restoring dignity and hope to abused and neglected children.
Do you ever wonder what it feels like to make it? It is that sudden sense that everything is in order, like all the stars aligned for you at that moment in time. Many people search all their life for that feeling. When you sit behind the wheel of the 2014 Maserati GranTurismo and you push “start”, the sudden purr of the hand crafted Italian V8 engine immediately summons the goose bumps to cover your skin. You get that feeling, that “wow, Mom, look I made it” feeling.
I got the privilege to find myself behind the wheel of one the other day along with getting the chance to explore a city that was so close to home yet felt far away, Fort Worth. As I drove the new 2014 Maserati Ghibli through the streets of Fort Worth’s iconic stockyards while having longhorns and beautiful stallions prance beside me it felt oddly fitting. To have this masterpiece from the Mediterranean rolling around the streets of a place where the Wild West is forever incarnate from the millions of hoofs and horse shoes that have galloped along those very streets. Fort Worth is a city that’s not flashy, it isn’t a place that screams glamor but at the same time it has this wonderful nostalgia that roams the streets. From the Kimble to Will Rodgers hall to 7th street and the river everything about the city just seems to make you feel welcomed and warm.
Maybe it’s the Texas charm and being born and raised in Dallas that is something I know quite a lot about but the charm coming from the people and places in Fort Worth has a different ring to it. It is almost as if the there is an extra added hint of humbleness to the already overstated Texas sized pride we all take on from being a part of this state.
That same feeling of humble excellence is the feeling you get when you take a Maserati over the Trinity River Bridge. It gives you a soft simile like you are getting a pat on the back for a long day’s hard work .The Maserati and Fort Worth have an almost Yin-Yang way of meshing together perfectly. The combination together perfectly defines this image of cow town luxury and as you turn the corner to receive a gentle tip of the cowboy hat from the man on his horse toward you in the pearl white Italian sports car you just know that this is the place where an automobile like this belongs.
A brand new and important artistic project created to celebrate a century of Maserati victories, is available in the Maserati Store. The collection of 100 special-edition lithographs, inspired by vintage posters, will retrace the most important stages in Maserati’s sporting history. For those of you who are up to date on your fine art speak, lithography is a method of printing originally based on the principle that oil and water do not mix, making the textures and colors contrast while complimenting each other to provide an even more vivid image.

These exclusive prints have been created using high quality materials and techniques, reproducing the original poster, and featuring the Maserati model that starred in that particular competition.
