2013 Porsche Panamera Available at Park Place Porsche Dallas

2013 Porsche Panamera, the premium class car, gives you everything you expect of a purebred Porsche in a four-seater with four doors. The Panamera lets you have it all.

Overview

The 2013 Porsche Panamera brings touring capabilities and sports performance together in the package of a quintessential Porsche with four doors and four-full sized seats for maximum comfort for journeys of every distance. “Because it’s so long, it can have four full-sized doors so rear passengers can easily climb in and out without incredible feats of acrobatic flexibility,” writes Kristin Varela in Cars.com.

The Porsche Panamera delivers the best of everything for the driver who wants a sedan and performance in one car. The design inside of the Panamera matches its sports car performance in that it looks more like a sports car than a sedan. The interior is so sporty that it takes stepping outside or turning around to see the back doors to remember the Panamera is really a sedan.

The luggage compartment in the new Porsche Panamera has a capacity of 15.7 cubic feet, enough to store four suitcases and take one out without reshuffling. Two uncommon features in this class are the retractable luggage compartment cover that conceals items in the trunk and the flexible folding back seats. Varela writes, “The Panamera’s cargo space is incredibly impressive. It swallowed everything we threw at it, even when we needed extra space to fit a large box for our puppies’ new dog run; the 50/50-split backseat folded nearly flat to increase the cargo space exponentially.”

The Porsche Panamera S raises the sportiness with a 4.8-liter engine that produces 400 hp at 6,500 rpm with a max torque of 369 lb-ft. This engine propels the Panamera S to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and its top track speed – and remember this is a sedan – is 175 mph.

The base 2013 Porsche Panamera is no slouch with its 3.6-liter 6-cylinder engine that generates 300 hp at 6,200 rpm with a max torque of 295 lb-ft. Its 0 to 60 mph time a flat 6 seconds and its top speed is 160 mph.

With either car, you can’t help but want to find time alone with the Panamera so you can take it for a spin on the race track. Don’t compromise on your wish for an athletic and luxurious sedan. Go with the 2013 Porsche Panamera that meets your sedan needs, yet acts like a purebred sports car you crave. See the newest Panameras at Park Place Porsche Dallas.

Grapevine get excited! The 2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Class is here!

2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

The Mercedes-Benz M-Class legacy of uncompromised safety, unbeatable performance and unequaled refinement are why the revolutionary Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicles remain the yardstick for SUVs.

Overview

Like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class paves the way for coupes and sedans, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Class sets the standard for SUVs. An SUV that tries to copy dilutes is diluted, but that’s not the case with the M-Class, an original. “Any luxury SUV can promise a quiet cabin and a smooth ride. But very few can claim a 174-mph top speed on the German autobahns or offer the stump-pulling torque of a fuel-efficient diesel engine. The well-regarded safety features of the M-Class are just another selling point, as is its 7,200-pound tow rating,” KBB.com writes.

In the M-Class, you get the space and road-tamer of an SUV with the handling and comfort of a luxury sedan. You can pack all the things you need into the M-Class without shuffling things to make it work. And no matter how demanding the elements are, the M-Class is always in its element as it blazes its way through everything. “The 2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Class can tame the hazards of ruts, snow and muck – not to mention rush-hour traffic and speed bumps – while treating its driver and passengers to a supple travel experience,” writes KBB.com in its review. “Even at freeway speeds, the cabin is remarkably hushed.”

An efficient 302-hp 3.5-liter V6 in the ML350 with a paddle-shifted 7-speed automatic can leap to 60 mph within 7.5 seconds and get a striking 22 mpg on the highway. Yes, it’s an SUV with sedan-like numbers. For more torque and 27 highway mpg, check out the ML350 BlueTEC with its advanced diesel turbo V6 that spurs a massive 240 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque.

2013 Mercedes-Benz ML

Those desiring even more power and torque will fancy the ML550 or the ML63 AMG. The ML550 contains a Direct Injection 4.6-liter V8 engine that generates 402 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. The ML63 AMG, on the other hand, has a 5.5-liter biturbo V8 with a fierce 518 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.

New standard equipment in the 2013 M-Class includes the mbrace2 telematics system and COLLISSION PREVENTION ASSIST. The mbrace2 system comes with a six-month trial to provide added security, such as Roadside Assistance and sending a monthly email report on the SUV’s health to tell you what’s going on with the SUV without opening the hood. It also connects the M-Class vehicle with your compatible devices to access the information you need with ease.

COLLISSION PREVENTION ASSIST has radar-based technology reviews speed and distance to alert the driver when nearing a vehicle ahead that may lead to a collision. The system can detect immobile objects and automatically brake as needed until the driver steps on the brake pedal.

“There is no substitute for the solid build quality and the road holding ability of a Mercedes-Benz. Before I got out of the dealer’s lot, I could feel the difference with the ML350,” writes a customer on Edmunds.com. “I want to feel the vehicle is built like a tank, with the ML350 that’s what you get.”

Safety

2013 Mercedes-Benz ML Safety
Mercedes-Benz pioneered safety breakthroughs that have become today’s standards including the Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and emergency-sensing Brake Assist. To see what’s next in safety standards, refer to 2013 Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

ATTENTION ASSIST: This standard feature is a Mercedes-Benz innovation continually monitors a variety of driving behaviors for signs of drowsiness on longer trips alerts the driver audibly and visually.

COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST: At speeds above 20 mph, this new system’s radar-based technology alerts the driver if when approaching a vehicle ahead at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. It can also detect stationary objects when moving up to 40 mph. Its Adaptive Brake Assist automatically provides the ideal level of braking as soon as the driver steps on the brake pedal.

PRE-SAFE: Helps detect instability during certain vehicle maneuvers that suggest a collision or rollover may be looming. PRE-SAFE tightens the seat belts, adjusts the passenger seat and closes the windows to prepare occupants and restraints in the moments before a collision.

Nine standard air bags: A system of 9 air bags offers 11-way protection. This includes dual two-stage front air bags, front and rear side-impact air bags, a driver’s knee air bag, and standard window curtain air bags for both seating rows.

Electronic Stability Program (ESP): This Mercedes-Benz safety breakthrough continually monitors driving inputs and the vehicle’s motion to help keep it going in the intended direction, especially in corners and during evasive maneuvers. If it detects wheelspin, severe understeer (plowing), or oversteer (fishtailing), ESP brakes individual wheels and reduces engine power to help the vehicle regain control.

Brake Assist: Brake Assist senses emergency braking based on the speed the driver pushes the brake pedal and immediately applies maximum available power boost. Brake Assist can potentially decrease the overall stopping distance by eliminating the delay caused by a common human tendency not to brake hard enough, fast enough. To release Brake Assist, just let up the brake pedal.

Adaptive braking technology: This is a suite of advances including Predictive Brake Priming, Automatic Brake Drying, Hill-Start Assist and HOLD. If the driver lifts off the accelerator quickly, Predictive Brake Priming sets the pads closer to the discs for more immediate response when the diver applies the brakes. When raining, Automatic Brake Drying periodically applies the brakes to sweep water build-up from the discs. Hill-Start Assist helps prevent unwanted rollback during uphill starts. A HOLD feature can make long red lights or stopped traffic a little easier.

It also incorporates our 4-wheel Electronic Traction System (4-ETS), which monitors for wheel slip and responds by ensure that torque is sent to the wheels with the best grip — even if it’s only one wheel. A pair of paddles behind the steering-wheel spokes lets you manually manage the 7-speed automatic transmission with a tap.

2013 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG: With reduced displacement, many innovations and twin turbochargers, the advanced 5.5-liter V8 in the ML63 AMG outputs a 518 @ 5,250 rpm and 516 lb-ft of torque @ 1,750-5,000 rpm. Its twin turbochargers spin up to 185,000 rpm to boost low-end torque. The AMG sport exhaust is tuned to optimize revs, gear changes and full-throttle acceleration.

High-pressure Direct Injection microscopically fine-tunes the fuel spray while rapid-multispark ignition fires up to four times in a millisecond. Its 32 valves are driven by dual overhead camshafts that can precisely vary their timing by up to 40 degrees. Along with improved efficiency and emissions, the ML63 AMG hits 60 mph in a breathtaking 4.7 seconds.

2013 Porsche Cayenne Arrives at Park Place Porsche in Dallas

2013 Porsche Cayenne crossover SUVs comprise everything you demand in a Porsche: brilliant performance, acceleration, braking and steering – in a rugged body that fancies every terrain and every element.

Overview

When the four-door all-wheel-drive Porsche Cayenne first hit the scene, many questioned the move. After all, people associate Porsche as sports cars with unparalleled performance and engineering that could take on any racetrack. They certainly don’t picture Porsche cars on steep hills and unpaved terrain. It didn’t take long before skeptics became believers when they saw hallmark Porsche features of steering, acceleration, braking, and efficiency realized in a high-performance SUV. The Cayenne came out triumphant.

Instead of four, Porsche now offers six variants of 2013 Porsche Cayenne crossovers. “Each Cayenne has its own personality, so choosing one is like trying to pick the right ice cream at Baskin-Robbins, except you don’t get a tiny plastic spoon,” writes Car and Driver in its review. New flavors include the 2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel, the fuel sipper, and the Cayenne GTS, the performance-oriented powerful younger sibling of the Turbo minus the turbochargers.

With such a diversity of options, how do you pick? Go ahead and learn about each one knowing that you’ll be more than pleased with your final selection. Edmunds.com writes, “Even on these less performance-oriented Cayennes, highway handling is impressive and the steering deserves special praise for its linearity and precision.” Now let’s meet each one.

Meet the 2013 Porsche Cayenne models

2013 Porsche Cayenne. The new Cayenne features a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 engine with direct fuel injection (DFI) and variable valve timing on inlet and exhaust. The engine generates 300 hp at 6,300 rpm with a maximum torque of 295 lb.-ft. at 3,000 rpm. It just takes 7.1 seconds to reach 60 mph with a manual gearbox and its top track speed is 142 mph. Those are sedan numbers in a big car.

2013 Porsche Cayenne

2013 Porsche Cayenne S. The Cayenne S has a naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 engine with direct fuel injection (DFI), VarioCam Plus and a two-stage intake manifold. The engine generates 400 hp at 6,500 rpm with a maximum torque of 369 lb.-ft. between 3,500 and 5,000 rpm. Fitted with eight-speed Tiptronic S as standard, the car takes 5.6 seconds to reach 60 mph and its top track speed is 160 mph. Not kidding.

2013 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid: First, Porsche built and introduced an SUV proving many skeptics wrong. Now it makes another surprising move with the 2013 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid. This may sound like a game of chess. If you consider the road as the king, the hybrid SUV conquers it every time. “The hybrid version is meant to be clean and green without being boring or underpowered, and Porsche has done a wonderful job mating a real engine, a real transmission (instead of a CVT), and a clever hybrid package of battery, motor, charging system and electronic controls,” writes Aol Autos.

The Cayenne S Hybrid pairs a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged gasoline engine with an electrical motor powered by a 288-volt nickel metal-hydride (NiMh) battery pack turning the hybrid SUV into a fuel-efficient sporty performer. This sounds like a contradiction, yet the hybrid generates a total of 380 hp and maximum torque of 428 lb.-ft. through its 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission and permanent all-wheel drive system. This system thrusts the hybrid SUV from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.1 seconds working up to a top track speed of 150 mph. (That’s not a typo.)

2013 Porsche Cayenne Sport

2013 Porsche Cayenne GTS. Powering the new sport-tuned Cayenne GTS is a naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 Cayenne engine with direct fuel injection (DFI) and VarioCam Plus. It generates 420 hp at 6,500 rpm with a maximum torque of 380 lb.-ft. at 3,500 rpm. It smashes from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 162 mph. Are you blown away yet?

The GTS comes with many features that are optional on other trims including a lower chassis for improved handling, Porsche’s active suspension system (PASM), 20-inch wheels, adaptive bi-xenon headlights, the Turbo’s front fascia, upgraded brakes with red brake calipers, front and rear GTS sport seats, a sport steering wheel, and more.

2013 Porsche Cayenne GTS

2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel. Powering the new Cayenne Diesel is a 3.0-liter V6 turbo-diesel engine with a common-rail injection system. Its turbocharger features Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG). This means the incoming exhaust gases drive a set of electronically variable turbine blades with its angle continuously adjusted to ensure optimum performance under all engine loads.

The Porsche Cayenne Diesel generates an output of 240 hp with a maximum torque of 406 lb.-ft. between 1,750 and 2,750 rpm. It just takes 7.2 seconds to reach 60 mph and its top track speed is 136 mph. The impressive EPA-estimated fuel economy is 19/29/23. This is the choice for those are more fuel-conscious than performance-oriented.

2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel

2013 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Powering the Cayenne Turbo is powered is a 4.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine featuring direct fuel injection (DFI), VarioCam Plus and charge-air cooling. It generates 500 hp at 6,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 516 lb.-ft. between 2,250 and 4,500 rpm. Its name is no surprise with its ability to jet from 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds and its top track speed is 172 mph. Yes, we double-checked those numbers.

2013 Porsche Cayenne Saftey
Porsche stability management (PSM). Standard in all Cayenne models, Porsche Stability Management (PSM) maintains stability even at the limits of dynamic driving performance. Sensors continuously monitor the direction, speed, yaw velocity and lateral acceleration of the car.

Braking system. Equipped with larger and more powerful braking systems, Cayenne models continue have excellent deceleration – even when there are five adults in the car, a trunk full of things and a braked trailer load of up to 7,716 pounds (Cayenne with manual gearbox: 5,952 pounds).

All Cayenne models have internally vented discs all round, ensuring consistent performance during heavy use. The SUVs also have six-piston monobloc aluminum brake calipers at the front and four-piston equivalents at the rear.

Electric parking brake. As you pull away, the new electronic parking brake automatically releases. You can manually activate and deactivate this safety feature.

Airbags. All Cayenne models come with full-size front airbags for driver and front passenger as standard. These are augmented by Porsche Side Impact Protection (POSIP). This consists of a side airbag in each front seat, curtain-type airbags on each side of the roof for head protection for both rows of seats and side impact protection in each door.

Performance

All Cayenne gas engines use direct fuel injection (DFI) to increase power and torque, improve fuel economy by 20 percent over its predecessor and lower emissions

Porsche Traction Management (PTM). Combines active all-wheel drive with an electronically variable multi-plate clutch, automatic brake differential (ABD) and anti-slip regulation (ASR). These ensure the perfect distribution of drive torque for optimum traction in all road scenarios.

Eight-speed Tiptronic S is standard in the Cayenne S, Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne GTS and Cayenne Turbo. This feature instills a wide ratio spread with first gear designed for optimum acceleration when pulling away and greater performance for driving uphill and towing loads in off-road terrain.

The new Cayenne S Hybrid can also operate in electric-only mode at speeds of up to 40 mph. The SUV gets 333 hp and gains an additional 47 hp from two electric motors with the AWD system and self-locking center differential. This allows you to get the kind of acceleration you’d expect from a V-8, but with a mileage of a V-6.

Featuring Auto Start/Stop technology, the Cayenne S Hybrid automatically turns off the engine when the SUV stops at traffic lights and the driver’s foot is on the brake. Although the engine isn’t running, audio and communication systems stay on and the standard climate control continues with the selected temperature. You won’t notice any changes other than a quieter car.

Porsche Traction Management (PTM) provides a standard torque split of 60 percent to the rear and 40 percent to the front. If one of the wheels is about to lose grip, the self-locking center differential transmits the torque to the axle offering the highest level of traction. The PTM also distributes torque to the rear wheels to boost steering precision and driving dynamics.

2013 Porsche 911 Carrera Rocks Dallas at Park Place Porsche

2013 Porsche 911 Carrera has surpassed its predecessors in driving dynamics, a tremendous feat considering the 911 has won over 30,000 races.

Overview

Porsche engineers have created the new 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera, an icon that remains instantly recognizable after almost 50 years. Yet over 90 percent of its components are new or modified. As expected, the new 911 Carreras carry on the Porsche 911 tradition of race-bred performance and everyday practicality.

The engines receive new, more resourceful technologies to quench drivers’ need for efficiency and excitement. An AutoGuide.com reviewer asserts the new model significantly outperforms older 911 cars. Porsche now offers the available 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission that boosts fuel efficiency, offers precise control, sports a coasting feature and provides lightning-fast gearshifts.

Another feature that increases efficiency is the standard Auto Start Stop function. For models with manual transmission, Auto Start Stop automatically turns off the engine when the driver stops the car, switches to Neutral or releases the clutch in models. In Porsche 911 cars with the optional PDK, Auto Start Stop function turns off the engine when the driver stops and keeps the foot on the brake.

Even with the multitude of track-tested innovations, the new models possess spacious seating, impeccable road manners, and insatiable sports car performance. The improved Porsche Traction Management (PTM) distributes power based on road and weather conditions. It does the job so well that handling is a breeze in every situation. Speaking of breeze, the redesigned convertible top in the Cabriolets opens and closes in 13 seconds and can operate when driving up to a speed of 31 mph.

“This car out performs any car I’ve driven. It’s comfortable, newly designed, very smooth, great options, elegantly beautiful, practical for everyday driving. Hands down the most solid car I’ve owned,” writes JustAmy in a KBB.com review of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4. “Performance is amazing! Porsche kept with that ever so lovely engine sound that is unmistakable.”

Performs better, too.” Performance comes packaged in a 4.7-liter V8 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that extorts big power at 460 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. This impressive bundle makes it possible for the GranTurismo Sport to shift from 0 to 60 mph in brisk 4.7 seconds and attain 186 mph top speed.

“Most important for this 4,100-pound plus GT sex bomb is its improved cornering dynamics,” AutoBlog writes in its 2013 Maserati GranTurismo Sport review. “The uprated suspension allowed us to do exactly what we envisioned in our mind’s eye through every demanding section of road.”

Maserati introduces a redesigned front bumper for maximizing front air flows for engine and brake cooling. The bumper also sports a new profile that makes a perfect frame for the DRL LED technology headlights. Walk around to the rear of the new GranTurismo Sport and you’ll notice darker toned, uncompromising and stylish taillights to complete the car’s transition to becoming the very definition of sporty elegance.

Yes, every little nook and cranny in the GranTurismo Sport enhances its sportiness as do a new set of 20” Astro Design alloy wheels. There’s no such thing as being too sporty.

The interior is all about comfort and ergonomics as everyone will enjoy excellent support and supreme comfort. Not only do the front and back seats meet ergonomic approval, but also the steering wheel with its flatter rim and firmer grip ups the sports driving experience and comfort intensity.

“We still remember our first drive in the GranTurismo S back in 2008, it had those perfect long carbon fiber shift paddles attached to the column,” Autoblog writes. “They continue on here and remain the very best solution in the fingertip-shifting business.”

The GranTurismo Sport has an Italian personality as big as its performance capabilities. The car will more than fulfill the needs and desires of the most demanding driver. Meet the new frontier in sporty elegance at Park Place Maserati Dallas, the Maserati dealership serving Dallas, Fort Worth and North Texas.

Drivers will love the newly designed steering wheel with a more muscular look, with Trofeo Design gearshift paddles. The enhanced steering wheel grip makes it easier to handle, especially during more forceful drives. Look down to check out the pedals decked in MC Sport Line aluminum.

The GranTurismo Sport has three available finishes, which are leather, leather and Alcantara and carbon fiber-Alcantara. Also an option is the instrument panel from the GranTurismo MC Stradale that ensures the driver can easily read the dials in all conditions. An Alcantara package is available for those preferring a more dynamic look. This adds Alcantara on the instrument dial covers, central armrest, door panel, handles, the center of the dashboard and central tunnel.

Exterior

The front remains a head turner with the customary oval Maserati grill sporting the classic red-pronged Trident, a feature available only to Maserati’s sportiest models. Furthermore, the introduction of the metallic Blu Sofisticato tint adds aggression, dynamism, personality and power.

Other features contributing to the GranTurismo’s vibrant and assertive style include air inlets, light clusters, new 20” Astro Design wheel rims and smoked rear lights that improve visibility and safety. The rims hide drilled and slotted discs that come standard.

2013 Maserati Granturismo Sport2
Functionally designed, the front bumper optimizes the front air flows for engine and brake cooling while framing the new headlights sporting DRL LED technology. Parking sensors and splitters in the bumper can be personalized in body-colored paint or in carbon fiber.

You can opt for a variety bodywork colors: two pastels, nine metallic, six special and three opaque. Also customizable are the leather upholstery and stitching color. The 2013 Maserati GranTurismo Sport has an extensive list of interior combinations and finishes, from Poltrona Frau leather and Alcantara upholstery, stitching colors, a variety of woods to carpets.

Safety

Maserati engineers kept active and passive safety at the forefront when designing the 2013 GranTurismo Sport. The result is a vehicle that uses the latest safety technology available in motoring.

The Maserati Stability Program (MSP) maintains the car’s stability by working in harmony with the ASR traction control and anti lock braking system (ABS), to stop the wheels from locking while braking. All of this synchronizes with the hydraulic braking assistance (HBA) and the engine’s torque stays under control.

Using xenon technology, the new front lights with integrated washers provide visibility when the headlights are dipped or on full beam. The Day Running Light system contains LEDs to make it easy to spot the car during daylight hours. A light meter automatically activates the headlights.

Parking sensors are standard in the Granturismo Sport. The sensors spot hazardous objects and small obstacles to keep the car’s aerodynamic spoilers in top form. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) monitors tire pressure to alert the driver whenever it falls below optimal.

As an essential element of passive safety, the front seats receive new dual-stage technology airbags while rear passengers have new generation airbags. Maserati engineers conducted deep research to properly and effectively integrate side bags in the new sports-profile seats. Add curtain bags to that and you have superb crash protection.

Performance

Maserati always produces distinctive motor cars with innovative, high performing engines. A love for mechanics is an essential part of Maserati’s DNA.

The 4.7-liter, V8 engine with unmistakable sports character is fitted to the GranTurismo Sport provides smooth motoring for everyday use. The power unit benefits from a special Diamond Like Coating (DLC) on the camshaft lobes and tappets to reduce friction.

2013 Maserati Granturismo Sport Engine

Two transmissions are available on the 2013 GranTurismo Sport: a six-speed, automatic ZF set up equipped with MC Auto Shift software or a sequential, six-speed gearbox with a twin-disc clutch. The ZF transmission results in smooth gear changes without penalizing performance with 49% of the weight up front and 51% in the rear; the sequential transmission is more suited to drivers looking for sportier handling and a closer rapport with the car. Here the weight split is 48% front-52% rear thanks to the transaxle set up that shifts the gearbox to the rear.

The car’s wet sump lubrication with optimized fluid dynamics cuts friction as it delivers power smoothly up to 460 hp. Peak torque has been upped by 10 Nm to 520 with most of it on tap through most of the rev range to guarantee super-slick gear changes.

The engine responds immediately when the accelerator pedal goes down. Its flexibility allows it to respond to conditions: from well-behaved in urban settings to powerful and dynamic on the open road. It all comes down to the driver. When activating Sport button, the suspension and gear changes recalibrate for maximum performance, the exhaust valves open up and the engine takes on a deep and exciting tone that symbolizes Maserati’s competitive nature.

Lexus has invested years of research so you can enjoy the dividends of the rich acoustics, 88 measures to limit vibrations and 112 minor modifications that make it possible for the Lexus ES 350 to dish up a quiet, opulent ride. “The 2011 Lexus ES 350 delivers a refined and serene driving experience,” writes Edmunds.com.

The Lexus GS 350 comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine with dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) and a six-speed transmission turning the ES engine into an intelligent one that generates 248 lb-ft of torque at 4,700 rpm. Dual VV-i increases torque at lower speeds for better maneuvering and boosting power at higher speeds.

The way the Lexus ES 350 clicks with the road, you’d think they’re inseparable. Again, the engineers have come through with a specially created rear sub-frame for improved handling and rigidity. They’ve also paid close attention to the geometry of the front suspension and traction control technology to boost handling for all weather conditions. Audio systems strive to help listeners experience the “sweet spot” of sound.

The interior IS the audio in the Lexus ES 350 as superior quality surround sound tailored for the interior fills the cabin. Sound dampeners, intelligent sensors and other meticulous alterations are just parts in other cars. But these aren’t just items on a list when it comes to the Lexus ES 350.

Add Lexus’ famous luxurious amenities and these features become a part of the experience. Edmunds.com says, “Materials are as good as you’ll find, with supple leathers and real wood trim. The ES 350 is also stocked with features that we’re more accustomed to finding in much more expensive luxury sedans.”

“Some buyers are really only looking for a comfortable and luxurious ride that isolates them from the outside world. The 2011 Lexus ES 350 was made with these car shoppers in mind,” writes Edmunds.com. Dual Climate Control: Separate controls allow the driver and front passenger to adjust the temperature to their individual preference. In addition, a smog-sensing, automatic recirculation system checks the air in the Lexus ES 350 for pollutants. If a high level is detected, the air intake turns off, and the cleaner air is recirculated inside the cabin.

Mark Levinson Surround Sound: The available 14-speaker 300-watt at less than 0.1% THD, 20 — 20,000 Hz Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio System is powered by a 10-channel amplifier and features a six-disc, in-dash DVD/CD auto-changer. It provides discrete 5.1-multichannel playback via a 7.1-channel speaker architecture. The element speakers include titanium tweeters and Neodymium subwoofer for a truer high-frequency response. The system also features a subwoofer, front-center and rear-corner surround-sound speakers and active sound balancing.

Bluetooth and USB Audio Support: Compatible portable audio players enabled with Bluetooth audio profile capability can be controlled using the onboard audio controls in the ES. Because it’s a wireless technology, your entire music library is accessible without ever taking the player out of your pocket or purse. A standard USB connection also enables you to control your compatible iPod audio player through the 2011 Lexus ES 350 audio interface and offers the added benefit of charging the device whenever it’s plugged in. In both cases, information such as artist name, track name and album name can be displayed on the audio display or available navigation screen.

10-Way Power Adjustable Seats: In addition to adjustable settings, the driver’s seat comes with a two-position Lexus Memory System. The memory system features settings for two different drivers, as well as settings for the exterior mirrors. Available heated and ventilated front seats have separate heaters and fans in the seat cushions that provide comfort regardless of the weather.

Voice-Activated HDD Navigation System: The available voice-activated HDD Navigation System uses a hard disk drive (HDD) to store maps and data, which allows it to operate much faster than previous DVD-based models. Additionally, it can recognize over 100 voice commands; provides a sharper, more colorful display; can map over eight million points of interest; and display information in English, French and Spanish.

XM Radio, XM NavTraffic, XM NavWeather, XM Sports and Stocks: While available XM Radio offers diverse and commercial-free music programming, available XM NavTraffic can provide real-time traffic reports on specific highways or routes and reroute you around congestion. Available XM NavWeather can give real-time weather reports for specific cities and even automatically alert you of severe weather. To find out more about XM Radio, please visit www.lexus.com/xmradio.

Power Rear Sunshade: Controlled by a button on the left-hand side of the instrument panel, the shade helps keep the rear seats cool and comfortable on sunny days. When the car is taken out of reverse and the vehicle speed exceeds 9 mph, the available sunshade automatically rises.

Wood and Leather Trim: The Lexus ES 350 interior is designed with highly polished brown walnut or espresso bird’s-eye maple wood trim accents on the doors, glove box and center console. These accents are also featured on the available wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob. And chrome-finished touches are featured throughout the cabin. Seats feature soft and luxurious leather or are available with semi-aniline leather trim. Because of the nature of this process, higher-quality leather is used, resulting in an even more supple and natural feel.

Lexus Memory System: Each driver can set the positions for the driver’s seat, exterior mirrors and power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel. By pressing either the No. 1 or No. 2 memory button on the door panel, the settings will be recorded. The next time you open the driver’s door, your key fob will automatically bring your settings back to your recorded specifications. The system can also recall settings for two different SmartAccess fobs, and can automatically move the driver’s seat, outside mirrors and steering wheel to your preferred positions.

Exterior colors: Cerulean Blue Metallic, Deep Sea Mica, Matador Red Mica, Obsidian, Peridot Mica, Satin Cashmere Metallic, Smoky Granite Mica, Starfire Pearl, Truffle Mica and Tungsten Pearl
Dual-swivel Adaptive Front Lighting: With the available Dual-swivel Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS), both headlamps can turn to help illuminate curves. At speeds above 19 mph, both headlamps will swivel into the curve of the road. At lower speeds, the left headlamp will rotate up to 15 degrees and the right headlamp will rotate up to 10 degrees.

Panorama Glass Roof: The available panorama glass roof appears to span the entire cabin. This roof offers twin skylights for front and rear passengers to enjoy. The full-length glass roofline seamlessly integrates with the metal roof frame.

Intuitive Parking Assist: With six ultrasonic sensors on the Lexus ES 350’s front and rear, available Intuitive Parking Assist detects how close the vehicle is to surrounding objects. When the Parking Assist button is active, the system alerts the driver when another vehicle or object is in proximity. Distance is indicated by an LCD display, accompanied by an audible beep. The closer the 2011 Lexus ES 350 is to the object, the fewer lines appear on the display, and the more frequent the beeping becomes.

Backup Camera: A tiny camera lens located over the rear license plate transmits a wide-angle color image to the screen on the available voice-activated HDD Navigation System. It activates as soon as the ES is placed in reverse. The camera image helps capture objects that a mirror could miss or obstacles not visible through the rear window.

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control: A millimeter-wave radar sensor allows the available Dynamic Radar Cruise Control to help maintain your selected speed when it’s activated. This system also allows you to follow the vehicle in front of you at the same pre-set speed. A car icon on the information display shows the selected following distance.

Alloy Wheels: The Lexus ES 350 is complemented by five-split-spoke alloy wheels that add elegant styling accents. The ES also offers available 17-inch, 10-spoke Liquid Graphite-finish alloy wheels for an exceptionally attractive look.

Aerodynamic Design: Engineers designed the Lexus ES 350 with a tapered front and narrow gaps in the body panels, resulting in a low 0.29 coefficient of drag. Other benefits include high-speed control and fuel efficiency, along with reduced wind noise. A specially designed cover mounted below the engine also reduces the front-end lift that often occurs as speed increases.

Bold Exterior Design: A bold illustration of our L-finesse design philosophy, the ES sports a sleek and elegant style. A distinctive grille and dynamic headlamps give it a strong stance. A long, streamlined cabin, integrated fog lamps and wraparound tail lamps express speed and grace. Complemented by a dual exhaust, this look embodies simple yet stylish design principles.

Side-view Mirrors: The side-view mirrors feature integrated turn signals to help warn other drivers of intended lane changes or turns. In addition, puddle lamps are located on the underside of the mirrors. They light the ground next to the door to prevent you from stepping in puddles, slush or other road debris. As you approach the Lexus ES 350, the SmartAccess key remotely turns on the puddle lamp. And, for added convenience when parking, the mirrors automatically tilt down when the ES is placed in reverse.

Safety

Airbags: The ES comes equipped with 10 standard airbags [1]. The sophisticated dual-stage driver’s and front passenger’s advanced airbag Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) that can deploy the driver’s side airbag at different speeds. And a front passenger’s twin-chamber airbag deploys with a slight depression in its center. There are also driver’s and front passenger’s knee airbags. To help provide protection in certain types of serious side-impact collisions, the ES features front and rear side curtain airbags, plus front- and rear-seat side-mounted airbags that are designed into the seats themselves, so that the airbags deploy in locations consistent with respect to the driver’s and front passenger’s positions. Side airbags help to offer a large protection area.

Smart Stop Technology: For additional peace of mind, this safety feature is designed to automatically reduce engine power when the driver is pressing down the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time under certain conditions. When releasing brake pedal, the Smart Stop Technology disengages. The feature does not engage when pressing the brake pedal before the accelerator.

ABS With Brake Assist: A sophisticated Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) helps give you authoritative driving control during hard braking. And because people sometimes don’t push hard enough on the brake pedal during an emergency stop, Lexus ES 350 offers the added benefits of Brake Assist. This feature identifies a panic-stop situation by monitoring how quickly and forcefully the brake pedal is pressed by the driver, and automatically applies increased braking boost until the pedal is released. An added safety feature, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), uses a computer to precisely modulate the amount of fluid pressure to the brakes, resulting in even further control.

Pre-Collision System: An advanced automotive safety feature, the available Pre-Collision System (PCS) is equipped with a front-mounted radar sensor that constantly monitors the distance and closing speed of a vehicle traveling ahead. When the system’s computer determines that a frontal collision is unavoidable, it preemptively retracts the front seatbelts and preps the Brake Assist for increased braking force the moment the brake pedal is depressed.

SmartAccess: With a unique secure code in the key fob, the SmartAccess system recognizes you and automatically allows you to unlock and open all four doors and the trunk of the Lexus ES 350. The ultimate in convenience, all you need to do is grab a door handle or press the trunk open button. SmartAccess even activates the lighting entry system to illuminate your points of entry from the exterior puddle lamps to the interior lighting. In addition, the system can recognize two SmartAccess fobs for two different drivers, and can automatically recall preferred settings for that particular driver.

Safety Connect: Safety Connect™ means additional peace of mind — 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the event of a severe rear-end collision or when the vehicle’s airbags deploy, Automatic Collision Notification can send a request for help — even when you can’t. And should you report your vehicle stolen, the Stolen Vehicle Location service can help the police recover it more quickly once a stolen vehicle report is filed. Safety Connect also includes Enhanced Roadside Assistance, which allows you to get help for things like a flat tire with a simple press of the Emergency Assistance Button (SOS), which can also be used for other emergencies. Safety Connect is a subscription service. A one-year trial subscription is included with new vehicle purchase.

Direct Tire Pressure Monitor System: Proper tire pressure is important. The Direct Tire Pressure Monitor System in the ES constantly monitors the air pressure of all tires, including the available full-size spare. When it senses that tire pressure is critically low, it alerts the driver with an indicator light.

Reinforced Body: The front and rear of the Lexus ES 350 help absorb impact energy by compressing at a controlled rate. For protection during possible side collisions, the reinforced side-impact door beams help resist cabin intrusion.

Performance

Lexus ES 268 HP V6 Engine: The four cam, all-aluminum 24-valve V6 engine generates 248 lb-ft of torque at 4,700 rpm. With a six-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), the ES delivers exceptional performance at any speed, remarkable 268 horsepower and requires nothing more than regular unleaded fuel.

Six-Speed Automatic Transmission: In sixth gear, the wider gear-ratio spread provides greater acceleration, efficiency and seamless shifting. The sequential-shifting capability enhances performance by allowing the driver to control shifting by nudging the gearshift forward or backward.

88 Vibration-Reducing Measures: While the Lexus ES 350 features one of the smoothest engines available, it also employs 88 measures to absorb, dampen and even cancel vibrations — before they ever reach the cabin of the vehicle. For instance, liquid-filled engine mounts were used rather than conventional rubber mounts to help contain engine vibrations. And when the vehicle is idling, an active-control engine mount actually detects the frequency of vibrations and emits a counter-frequency, which effectively cancels them out. In addition, 24 pieces of foam coating and 22 urethane sponges are strategically placed throughout the vehicle to help absorb vibrations, as well as reduce wind and road noise.

Dual Variable Valve Timing: Monitoring the engine’s speed and load, dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) increases torque at lower speeds for better maneuvering, while boosting power at higher speeds. By making the valve train more flexible, this results in faster acceleration, better performance and lower emissions.

ECO Indicators: To instill greater awareness and to encourage a more environmentally sensitive driving style, two ECO Driving indicators are included in the ES. An Eco Driving Indicator Light illuminates whenever fuel-efficient acceleration is being achieved. And, to allow the driver to monitor their level of driving economy in real-time, an Eco Driving Indicator Zone Display is also included. Using a bar graph to display a real-time measurement of the accelerator operation, this display includes a light that blinks if the driving habits exceed the eco-friendly range.

Independent Suspension: Each wheel of the 2011 Lexus ES 350 can react to bumps in the road independently, allowing it to absorb the shock more thoroughly, courtesy of the four-wheel, independent, MacPherson strut suspension.

Dual Exhaust: With two exhaust pipes, there’s a greater surface area from which to expedite gasses from the engine. This generates peak horsepower, increasing performance. Seamless chrome tips also maximize style.

Four-Wheel Disc Brakes: The ES front disc brakes contain special ducts, which help reduce the heat build-up that accelerates brake fade. The brakes are also equipped with Brake Assist and a four-sensor Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).
