McLaren Special Operations 2015 McLaren MSO 650S Spider

2015 McLaren 650S Spider MSO

Fundamental to human nature is the fact we are all matchless, each unique in our own way. Now, this longstanding truth has been equally fulfilled in the realm of motor vehicles. The division that brought to us the groundbreaking McLaren F1 has evolved into a new entity amongst the ranks of McLaren. McLaren Special Operations has emerged to fundamentally alter the DNA of the McLaren vehicle lineup, and they have done so strikingly with the 2015 MSO 650S Spider. MSO’s bespoke vehicles allows every client to specify exactly what they want on their vehicle, outside of what would be considered the ordinary range of possible options.  Of the vehicles produced, MSO adhered only to two simple boundaries: legal limits and approved vehicle materials.  The rest is limited only to the extent of your imagination.

The McLaren Special Operations unit has brought cutting-edge customization to our home here at Park Place McLaren Dallas. These two custom-tailored 2015 McLaren 650S Spiders have been built along with only 48 others in the world and they now eagerly anticipate the opportunity to establish not only their unique identities on the road, but also the craftsmanship unique to the MSO unit.

The two 2015 McLaren 650S Spiders are outfitted with the MSO 650S Edition Pack that consists of several custom additions. The two vehicles differ only in their respective special exterior paint colors.

All of the exterior and interior carbon fiber options including the wiper system cover and the door sill panels are coated with a satin finish that contrasts commendably with the high gloss interior switches and vent bezels. In addition to these areas, the vehicle displays a spectacular carbon diffuser and carbon side blades, reinforcing the feel of a stealth fighter on the streets.

Park Place Motorcars Dallas Leads the Way at “A Wagon Holds Promise” Parade

Mercedes-Benz convertible in A Wagon Holds a Promise parade

Park Place Motorcars Dallas recently joined Community Partners of Dallas for a special event to celebrate the organization’s 25th anniversary. Community Partners of Dallas organized the “A Wagon Holds a Promise” parade in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest parade of toy red wagons. The parade was a success, and they broke the record with 288 wagons. The previous record holder, the St. Georges Lions Club of Utah, originally broke the record with 250 red wagons in 2003.

A red Mercedes-Benz convertible was donated by Park Place Motorcars Dallas to lead the parade, held on January 31st at Central Square Park. Over 467 people followed behind, pulling red wagons to not only break a world record, but in support of the abused children that Community Partners of Dallas aims to serve.

Maserati GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition

2015 Maserati GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition

100 years ago in the heart of Bologna, Italy, Maserati was born.  A century of unparalleled success, innovation, and prestige has made cause for celebration.  To commemorate this historic time, Maserati has created unique designs of the GranTurismo MC with the esteemed title of “Centennial Edition.”  Featuring three new and unique three-layer paints, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition captured the hearts of spectators at the Beijing and New York Auto Shows in April of 2014.  This gorgeous vehicle has now made its way into the halls of Park Place Maserati.

Park Place Maserati is holding the new “Blu Inchiostro” color GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition in our spotlight.  The paint color, with deep dark glints, has been specifically developed to combine with the lighter shades of the interior, creating an aesthetically beautiful transition between the cabin and the exterior.  The color is sporty, yet retains an air of elegance with its intensity and reddish undertones.  Furthermore, a unique centennial logo has been placed in the door sill and the center wheel caps so as to emphasize the exclusivity of this vehicle.

Taking a look under the hood of the Centennial leaves little else to be desired.  Featuring a powerful 454 horsepower 4.7L V-8 naturally-aspirated engine with MC Trofeo-developed high-performance and specifically-tuned exhaust, the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition lacks in neither bark nor bite.  The suspension and chassis are designed specifically to enhance track performance without sacrificing any of its abilities as a day-to-day driver because of its single rate sports suspension and a lower, stiffer setup.  The hood, made entirely of carbon fiber, provides additional downforce at the front to improve steering sensation and control at high speeds.

Once you take a seat in the cabin, you immediately realize that the emphasis placed on performance in no way detracts from the luxury experienced within.  The Poltrona Frau leather interior with the contrast stripe design with specifically matched contrast stitching truly highlights this interior as the pinnacle of indulgence.  This, coupled with the carbon fiber trim on both the interior and exterior accent regions, indicates that Maserati held nothing back in either its design or implementation.  With the realization of the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition, Maserati has undoubtedly primed itself for its next century of unbridled achievement.

2015 Porsche Boxster is Built for the Driving Enthusiast

2015 Porsche Boxster driving

The Porsche Boxster was first unveiled in 1996, as an unique performance roadster concept with a distinctive mid-mounted boxer engine. The 2015 Porsche Boxster continues the boxer engine legacy, combining new lightweight construction with Porsche’s renowned agility and cornering dynamics. Sprinting from 0-62 mph in 5.8 seconds, the Boxster handles hairpin turns with ease, proving that fun is the main objective of this sports car. A new version of thermal management assists in reducing friction and optimizing efficiency. For those who want a more responsive driving experience, select the “Sport” button on the center console—engine dynamics will tune for true performance driving.

The Boxster’s performance is only matched by its sleek style. Curving lines rise to a fully electric convertible rooftop, which, when lowered, takes your driving experience from “dynamic” to “truly exceptional.” Cruising down the highway with the wind in your hair, it’s not hard to see why the Boxster is one of Porsche’s most popular models.

Kelley Blue Book bases “Best Resale Value” calculations on a number of factors, including market conditions for each vehicle, competition for each vehicle, sales data, and more. In order for an automotive brand to receive the “Best Resale Value” award, the carmaker must manufacture excellent vehicles across its model lines.

According to Kelley Blue Book, “Lexus has created a Best Resale Value dynasty. Four straight years as our best Best Luxury Brand when it comes to holding resale value over time is an unprecedented achievement, one that should inject a full measure of legitimate overconfidence in buyers.”

All New Jaguar F-PACE to Debut in 2016

Jaguar F-PACE

The Detroit Auto Show usually provides a good look at what’s ahead for many major car retailers, and this year’s show is no exception. Jaguar has just announced their latest model, the F-PACE, will make its debut in 2016.

The F-PACE is based on the highly popular C-X17 concept car Jaguar introduced last year. Featuring five seats and the superior on-road performance for which Jaguar is known, the F-PACE is the brand’s first foray into crossover territory. The F-PACE will also include Jaguar’s Instinctive All Wheel Drive® system and All Surface Progress Control technology, improving both traction and all-weather driving capabilities.

Jaguar F-PACE

“In 2015 we will celebrate Jaguar’s 80th year,” says Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Global Sales Director. “We will introduce our first performance crossover which we consider to be the ultimate practical sports car – a car that builds on the brand’s founding ideals of Grace, Pace and Space to become one of the most innovative Jaguar vehicles we’ve ever developed.”

The F-PACE has begun testing at Jaguar’s facilities in the UK, and more news about the vehicle will be released later this year by JaguarUSA and on the Park Place Jaguar Dallas and Plano pages of our website.  Please contact Steve Vankos at Jaguar Dallas or Jason Feuerberg at Jaguar Plano for more details.  It’s safe to say, in the words of Andy Goss, “2015 will most definitely be the year of the cat.”
